Wood Inlay

Finally did something with the drop pieces of wood from a dog bowl stand I made. This is a oak wood inlay of my friends logo for his business.

Cornhole

Design idea for a cornhole board with walnut sides, maple top, inlayed wood logo and acrylic stripes that light up.

The actual set came out exactly as my rendered drawing which is great.

Custom made light pucks to light up the holes. This was a very fun project start to finish. because it involved wood working. Some minor electrical soldering and running wires for the lights. And I also made some metal brackets and boxes to help house the electronics and keep them safe for outdoor use.

Car Repair.

Swapped a new engine into my car. Car got towed to my garage on Friday evening and I drove away Sunday afternoon. Had some tough spots but overall I think it went well considering it drives fine now and it was the first time I had ever done that and I was by myself.

Also made a small sign to commemorate my two white 4 cylinder tubro charged cars.

Bathroom Remodels

My first handrail. I welded caps on the end to cover the open holes in the tubing and made some custom standoffs that go through the drywall and anchor into a plate in the wall so that it can support a persons weight.

I cut, formed and engraved a Disney themed draw organizer for the bathroom drawer out of some colored stainless steel.

Secret Santa

This was a really fun gift to make for my pianist grandmother. I started with a small small chunk of aluminum, a piece of sheet metal, wire and three screws. I machined everything down and turned into into a tiny piano that fits into the palm of your hand.

Computer Redesign

I wanted another weekend project so I took apart my water cooled computer and rebuilt it slightly redesigned. First step like with most of my projects is to start with a nice highly detailed 3d model. Thankfully I still had the files from my last one and only needed to make a few new parts.

I worked out a rough layout of how I wanted everything to fit and figured out the path the water would flow through the system.

It needed some cleanup but I was able to reuse most of the pipe from the old system.

The components for this computer we installed onto a mirror finish piece of stainless steel that I built into the legs of the desk so that everything tucks nicely out of the way underneath the desk. Since most of the hardware is hidden on the back side of the panel I engraved the logo of a fun puzzle game on the right half of the metal.

Photo Like Engravings

Experimenting with a new engraving method that gets me closer to a photo real image. It has a very unique look because when viewed from 10+ feet away it looks like a black and white photo but when viewing up close you can see the halftone pattern that fakes the detailed look.

Balcony Landscape

Designed this landscape and made a wrap around balcony out of marine grade plywood. If I ever go back to the persons house I will get a couple more pictures that show it installed and how it was painted.

Nixie Tube Clock

I always thought these looked cool so I bought a kit and put a nixie tube clock together.

New Shop Desk

Put together a fun little desk from some scrap wood that was going to get thrown out. I don't have a picture of it but I also added a cross beam for support and a hidden shelf underneath to hold a power strip and help manage cords.

Car Maintenance

Just regular car maintenance: Oil change, tire rotation, toped up fluids and fixed leaking vacuum line that was preventing the turbo from boosting. Oh and also every 5k miles you are supposed to retighten all the bolts that attach to the chassis or the car could fall apart. I still loved this car though while I had it.
